"When you fall in love, you don’t just see weeds glowing in an irrigation ditch at dusk: you become them."

Everything just gets so much larger when you become the things around you. Insightful to identify this phenomenon as love.

Such a poignant read and full of truth .. just this last week I found a video of our 2 daughters in the bathtub giggling together as toddlers, they're 25 and 22 now and we all had big smiles together watching it. We do disappear into the years as they pass, but it's such a sweet dissolution, as you've written.

That must have been quite a moment! Glad you all had big smiles. ❤️

Ah, beautiful and inspiring. Just because the past is passed, doesn't mean it really is. As I look at the current wrinkles around my eyes, your piece makes me feel less blue. I too remember those early soul-numbing years with my own young son who had such long tantrums and couldn't go out into the world without his ears covered with noise-canceling earmuffs, no playgrounds, etc. Now he's 19-years-old, a successful and happy sophomore college student on the other side of the country -- look how miraculous time is! We lose a little, sometimes a lot; we gain a bit more. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

As usual, I'm just reading along and enjoying and then SHAZAM and I'm howling and weeping and laughing inside.

Life is so damned unpredictable. We are fortunate to be able to revisit and share key passages, as you have done here, with language.
